Sammy Mack lives and writes in Arkansas. Her fiction explores the relationship between place and mythology. She’s at work on a novel.

Mack is also an award-winning journalist who was a staff reporter for WLRN, South Florida’s public radio news station. Her work has been published by NPR, Kaiser Health News, Global Health, Monocle 24, the Miami Herald and other outlets.

Her essay about reporting on Zika while pregnant and living in Miami appears in Making Good Time: True Stories of How We Do, and Don't, Get Around in South Florida from Jai-Alai Books. Mack’s most recent short story, Eight Mount Olympus, is featured in Hotch Potch Literature & Art.
